I suppose this project is in a standby period. I don't have any complete board yet as I was thinking in personal use and only if the driver is evolving.

A very interesting project, looks like it can replace the Pegasus UPB V2 I have.
Is there a focus controller ?

Hey all, Pierros here (the dev that started astrohat). Here is a bit of an update so far:

The version 1.2 that is released has been working quite well so far except the following:
- The adjustable voltage channel is not operational
- The sensing of the dew heaters channel is not working

Apart from those two issues that are now identified and will be fixed in 1.3 everything else seems to be working as it should. As a matter of fact astrohat has now been tested for over two months of total night sessions.
I am also happy to report that there are more than 10 astrohats now in the wild ;)
I am working with contributors to release the indi driver and you can follow our progress and general development here:
app.element.io/?#/room/#astrohat:matrix.org

To answer some questions:
1. We don't have any plans for a focus controller embedded on astrohat yet.
2. When 1.3 is released we will be providing ready made assembled boards for people interested.

I am also interested in the version 1.3 adjustable in voltage, I have to connect them to the Nikon D5300 with dummy battery.

Hey guys - Just a quick update on some progress we've made with Astrohat.
  • Channels now have the ability to configure names, limits.
  • Heater channels also have the ability to configure names, limits as well as a power setting (0-100%)
  • Adjustable voltage channel(s) are still a WIP due to hardware issues (to be fixed in board v1.3)

Astrohat does not yet have an INDI driver, however we do have a stand-alone CLI tool which communicates with the daemon to configure and monitor channels.

Now the daemon is in a good place, we can start looking at having the INDI driver communicate with the daemon for INDI control. Will keep any progress posted.

Ready to start battle testing!

Hello everyone! I just ordered a PCB and would like to build this. I'm getting the parts but some are on back order in Mouser. I have a question regarding some components. Can I substitute a 0805 SMD part for the 0603s? The smaller ones are hard to get by here.

And are there substitutes for these as they look to be out of stock?

Hi Rob,
I also have Stellarmate OS / RPI 4B, but due to the unreliable SD Cards and throttled CPU because of the heat, I am considering switching to Rock PI 4 with Armbian Desktop on it. The problem is that Stellarmatehe PPA repos only have packages for buster, which is 32-bit.
How did you manage to install Stellarmate on the Rock PI ?
Thanks!
