I've been using INDI and EKOS for 2 or 3 years now and its working very well. I'm using an ATIK 383L+ with a C11 on a CEM120 mount. Using everything fully remotely.
I've never used a DSLR with INDI but I'm thinking that I'd like to piggy back my canon DSLR on the scope for wide field shots. My question is about powering a DSLR on and off remotely....
For the ATIK CCD its easy. A box of relays is controlled via scripts. But how would one power a DSLR remotely?
My DLSR is a EOS Kiss X7i (Also known as: EOS Rebel T5i (US), EOS 700D)
I used to use a 700D as well with a dummy battery that had a cable that ended in a cigarette plug which I connected to a rechargeable battery pack. Worked like a charm. This one could work for instance
when you create a cable with a small plug that fits in the connector on the side of the dummy battery on one side and said cigarette plug on the other. Amazon sells loads of dummy batteries as well.
