Show images of deep sky objects in KStars

Hi all,

Sorry if this is a simple question but I'm very much a beginner.

I'm trying to get some of the most prominent nebulae/galaxies to display images in the KStars planetarium. I see every time I right click an object the option to "Download DSS image", but unfortunately my setup computer only has rare access to internet (it's an astroberry). As a result, I was wondering if there was a way to batch download many images of the most prominent deep sky objects?

I have tried installing catalogues (all of the optional ones in the setup wizard) but so far as I can tell these only show position/magnitude etc and don't come with an image attached.

Is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks!

Use HiPS. View --> HiPS All Sky Overlay --> DSS Color

Thank you very much! I assume this requires the image files to be downloaded and do not come with the default installation? (when I enabled it in the settings no new images were shown)

yeah, as you zoom in to any region, it starts to download the files for that region.
