Kstars Version and PPA was created by Jerry

Hello,

I've tried to track down exactly what should work together but I don't seem to be able to find an answer. Should the latest INDI drivers from the Debian PPA, not bleeding edge, work with Kstars V2.2.0 installed on Xubuntu (Ubuntu 14.04.3) ? Specifically for controlling the Celestron Nexstar. If not, can I roll back to the previous drivers. They worked fine before I tried the PPA drivers.

Thanks,

Jerry

Ubuntu PPA is "bleeding edge" for both INDI & KStars. And yes latest INDI from PPA should work with v2.2.0 of KStars. You'd probably want to upgrade to 15.04 since latest KStars has a lot of improvements & bug fixes over v2.2.0.

OK, that makes sense, I'll move on to 15.04 and try to catch up. Thanks!

I tried to install newer versions of everything, except, Kstars, and still get the same type of errors.
I get the sense that I must have a mismatch for so many things to not work properly.
Do I need to use a different version of Kstars with the indi drivers from the PPA?

INDI Library: 1.1.0 from PPA
Kstars 2.2.0 from Ubuntu 15.04 apt-get install
Linux 3.19.0-15-generic #15-Ubuntu SMP Thu Apr 16 23:32:37 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Installed xubuntu 15.04 followed by apt-get update and upgrade.
Used apt-get to install Kstars.
Tested slewing Celestron AVX mount with Kstars and it worked well.

Added INDI PPA and installed indi-full
Tested slewing Celestron AVX mount with Kstars and it did not work.
Mount slews to positions below the horizon, Kstars cross hairs moves to same position below horizon.
Checked times and locations and they look valid.
Ran the simulator and the Kstars cross hairs slewed to the correct positions.
Tried to generate a debug log and could not find one in tmp.

Cheers,

Jerry
