If i want to secure my indi server, I can allow port 7624, May i know the underlying protocol.Is it tcp

Yes it's regular TCP/IP.

The INDI server protocol, as far as I am aware, doesn't support authentication nor encryption.

In order to support the above, I would suggest binding the INDI server to the localhost 127.0.0.1, and then using SSH port forwarding from your INDI client to the INDI server.
