Hi,

I'm having trouble with the meridian flip on my CGEM using the latest stable build.  This is new since I updated earlier this week.

From the log it looks like there is a problem with the mount reporting that the sides have changed.

Any idea what might be the problem?
Thanks!

I'm still having the same problem.  Is this another indi_celestron_gps driver problem?

After further investigation, the problem seems to have occurred due to the recent time change, where Kstars was not using the correct DST rule.  Ekos was asking for a meridian flip well before the mount needed one.  It seems to work well now, so hopefully that was the real problem  .

What DST rule is that? If it is wrong in KStars then we need to update it.

I did not have a DST rule selected for my location, so the mount and Kstars got out of sync when the time change happened.  The setting I refer to is in the bottom right of this screen shot.  Sorry for the confusion.

OK, so it looks like the problem continues.  Last night there was a meridian flip that never happened, but the log noted that it did.

Why would it report failure and then immediately report sucess?  Note that the CGEM driver reported PierSide stayed W.  The mount never physically flipped.

There is certainly something not right with the link between the clock in kstars and ekos.

I had a pier crash the other night because I had paused the clock in kstars.

I've also noticed the start and finish times are tied to the kstars clock too...

I'm sure I used to be able to move around in the time domain in kstars without effecting the ekos but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore unless I'm misunderstanding how this should operate.

But... missing the meridian flip due to the clock being paused in kstars seems a bit dangerous to gear.

Mount is a HEQ5PRO and seemed to work fine through last year including the change from BST to GMT.

Ekos unpauses the clock when starting. So if the clock was paused, it was paused after Ekos was already started.

Looks like a clear night coming up shortly.  I will double check the Kstars time before starting the imaging run.  Which logs should I enable for troubleshooting this?

So here's the report from the session last night.  I stayed up and sat there while the meridian flip approached.  There was clearly a problem where the mount was an hour off from Ekos.  I found that the Nexstar controller has a setting for DST that was incorrectly set.  Also there is a setting in the handset to define pier side priority at the meridian.  I had it set to off originally, but then switched it so that the mount prefers to switch sides as soon as possible.

I will re-align the mount and  watch the flip again (without any interfering from me), but I think we are approaching a solution in this.  Thanks for the help!
