hello alacant,
The problem was my Ubuntu installation. Now I solved it and I can tell you that it works perfectly for me too. Indeed, the latest implementation of the Omegon driver is richer and more complete: we can read the power supplied by the cooling Peltier cell, set the anti-dew heating power and generally set the settings more simply. ;-)

Thanks. VeTEC571: Confirmed working right out of the box using the omegonpro option. Latest stable. Great job.

Just a few bits:
1. The cooler toggle in the EKOS capture tab has no effect. It has to be turned on or off from the INDI control panel.
Have I missed a configuration item perhaps?
2. Offset for gain 100. Any recommendations?

TIA

Hello alacant,
1.) Usually I use the indi panel, but I also noticed these settings seem to disagree. Probably a bug.

2.) I figured my offset out by comparing the image "quality" off my bias frames with the ones created by shipped software. Initially my indi pictures where full of stripes, while the ones of the omegon software appeared quite flat. So I took bias frames with offset 0 in indi and looked at the histogram for the min and max values, using the min as start. Slowly increasing until you are satisfied with the result, my end result was 786. But it might differ from your sensor.

regards and clear skies,
kneo

Thanks

FWIW, I found a thread discussing the 571;
www.astronomo.org/foro/index.php?topic=33258.0

They speak of an offset of 768.

I tried both 786 and 768 and can't detect any difference.

Thanks again and clear skies.

Testing new touptek driver... It is unusable (( It switch off and then switch on camera cooler each image!

How to reproduce: simply add saving of 10 lights of 10 seconds and press "start sequence" in Ekos. Camera will switch cooler off and on 10 times

Hi Denis, everyone
Another problem I'm experiencing with the omegonpro driver is with captures which are failing to download. This seems to be dependent upon two things:
1. whether any changes have been made on the flat and dark calibration popup
2. the optical train

Comments:
- Even if I only want flat frames, I still have to add a mount (e.g. the telescope simulator) so that the optical train is accepted.
- If I want only a camera connected, upon connecting there is a popup telling me to reconfigure the optical train EACH TIME a connection is made.

Questions
1. What is the minimum configuration for an optical train?
2. Can I have just a camera as the optical train?
3. Any ideas as to why the download of a capture fails?

My experience is that the start of each shot stops the cooling fan for 2/3 seconds, but does not turn off the cooling peltier. The temperature remains constant. However the behavior is anomalous.

I use short exposures so camera stops cooler every few seconds. Where to get previous version for arm64 driver? Anyone can upload indi-toupbase_*.arm64.deb file for previous version of INDI?

I see the "cooling stops" behavior also with my Risingcam 571c. I mentioned it in another touptek thread - interesting to know that it's not just me. I cannot see any sign of a command going to the cooling system in any log, so I'm not sure how to formally report the issue.

In my case, the sensor temperature does rise when taking short exposures. Last night I took flats with a 2-second pause programmed between each exposure and that helped some. If I watch the INDI panel, cooler power briefly shows 0% at the start of each exposure, and both the fan and the TEC LEDs turn off on the camera itself.
