Is it recommended to do a Nexstar 2 star align before using Ekos polar alignment with the celestron_gps driver with an Advanced VX mount?

Yes, it is recommended to perform alignment whether 1 or 2 star before using the Polar Alignment Tool within Ekos. After the alignment, you need to first check for Az & Alt misalignment, and if desired, ask Ekos to correct for the error by asking you to center the reference star for each axis.
