With EQdirect cable you should use EQmod driver, synscan driver works with the hand controller.

Also, try not to run KStars with sudo. This will create certain files with root permission only and you will not be able to run as a normal user anymore.

Hi!

I tryed both.
Cable direkt with eqmod and cable into SyncScan with syncscan driver.
Sudo kstars for testing if root is necessary.

Have you made sure that the InDi device is trying to connect to the correct port (normally USB0 but depends on what you have connected) and that it is not failing due to permissions on the USB port - check this site for info. Use LSUSB to see is the USB Adapter is recognised and that the port is being created in /dev with the correct permissions - if I remember it your user should be added to the group (?) - Note I have found that adding to the group does not work 100% but you can test this by changing the permissions on the USB device node using CHMOD from the command line - but do a ls -la first in case the permissions are correct. The only other problem I have come across is some of the older EQDIRECT cables used the Prolific chip which gave problems on Windows and seems to have a very weak signal but normally works under Linux !!!!
RPI3 Ubuntu 16.04 / AMD desktop Kstars under Ubuntu 16.04 Mounts :azeq6 ,SWAZGoTo

RPI3 Fedora testing out on AMD desktop Fedpra 28 - running kstars 2.9.4 , Indilib 1.7.4 ?????
