HIPS DSS Color not displayed (Kstars 3.5.3 stable, ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS and MacOS 11.4) was created by Scott Denning
For some reason I no longer have HIPS overlays in Kstars 3.5.3 Stable on any of my machines (Mac, AMD NUC, R Pi 4).
This is a cross-platform problem on
MacOS 11.4 (MB Pro 2016)
ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (R Pi 64-bit)
kubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (AMD NUC)
See attached screenshots of the center of the Milky Way galaxy. Just chart elements. No nebulae, MW background, nothing. I've selected DSS Color, provided lots of RAM and disk for caching, and ensured data are downloaded.
Makes it really tough to frame and especially set rotation angle for imaging.
