Polar alignment routine

Hello group. I have been using Sharpcap for polar alignment running on a Windows PC but now that the new polar alignment routine is available in Ekos, I would love to stay on my RPi all along and start polar alignment from this unit. It seems the polar alignment routine relies on us having a goto mount so that you can rotate the mount 30 deg but in my case, I use Stellarmate to control my portable setup that includes the Skywatcher Star Adventurer that has no such functionality. How critical is it to rotate for the exact angle selected in the options? Will it still be reliable if we just rotate by hand to a rough 30 degrees rotational amount? Sharpcap relies on an approximate 90 degrees rotation (just turn it by hand), so I am wondering if the algorithm is similar using Ekos/Stellarmate.

Thanks

It is NOT important/critical to rotate it "exactly" 30 or 20 degrees.
