To record video, I click on the Live Video button in the Camera module, select the frame exposure time and hit Record. I notice that it is not possible for me to achieve a frame rate anywhere near what my camera is capable of. I have a PlayerOne Neptune that is advertised as capable of recording 60 fps. The most I have been able to do is 15 fps using the Camera module.
I suspect that I am not using the correct method in Ekos to record video. The video tutorials keep calling this "video streaming", which leads to my suspicion. So my question is: how do I record a video at a higher frame rate? I am not interested in live streaming, just recording.
For information, I'm recording video for planetary imaging.
First shot single frame with correct framing in CCD tab. Then open INDI control panel in camera tab and Streaming sub-tab set record file path and frames. Then press "Record (Frames)" button. This method get you highest framerate. But I would recommend FireCapture to record planets. Ekos is too barebone for this.
