Problem to connect ASi EAF

Hello,
I've a problem to connect my EAF. When I start Ekos on my RPI via Kstars, my EAF isn't connected (not always). I need to relaunch and relaunch Ekos to have a chance to connect this focuser.
If I have a connection, I see that :
"Error loading default configuraiton. Unable to open config file. Error loading file /home/stellarmate/.indi/ASI EAF_config.xml.default: No such file or directory "

And yes, I don't have this file :

Do you know how to fix this problem ?

Thank you,
Frank

That file is not important, it's the configuration file. After the first time you save config in the driver, you will no longer see this message. If you sometimes do not see ASI EAF connected then this indicates some sort of conflict on the USB or shoddy connection from the USB cable and/or port.

Hello,
I've cheked all my cables and change them. But I always have the same problem. Ekos doesn't always detect my EAF.
If fact, I've rebooted my RPI, launched Kstars and Ekos. No problem, I see my EAF.
If I stop and restart Ekos, I don't see anymore my EAF.
And Ekos says I've a problem with the EAF and ASI224 but my ASI 224 is ok :

Is-it possible to have a conflict of USB ?
On my RPI, I've :
1) ASI 1600MC, connected to the RPi
2) ASI 224mc for the guiding, connected to the ASI1600MC
3) the mount (Orion Atlas), connected to the RPi
4) the EAF, connected to the RPi

How can I investigate this problem ?
Thank you.

Don't use ZWO Camera 1, Camera 2..etc, just use ZWO CCD driver.

I'd say start with only the EAF connected and then check if it gets detected. Then add each of your equipment one by one until you can identify the device that might be causing conflict with the EAF.

Ok, I've changed to CCD for the two cameras.
I've connected my EAF and my ASI224MC to the ASI1600MC and this camera to the RPi..
But I' don't see my EAF...
So, tomorrow, I'll connect only my EAF like you said.
How is it possible to check if my EAF is correctly connected or if my EAF isn't dead ?
Thank you.

If you have the older 12V model of EAF, it requires 12V power connected to be visible to the computer. The newer 5V USB power only version does not need that, but probably requires a powered USB-hub instead as it powers the motor from USB as well.

Not sure if that is an issue here. But in my experience the ZWO drivers have problems when a connected device disappears. In my case it was a bad power connection. After such an event, you have to restart the driver (indi_asi_focuser) before it will recognize the EAF again.

Hello,
Bad news... I've changed all my cables and test my power, all is fine.
I've updated the firmware of my EAF and test it on my computer. No problem.

But, on my RPI, with SM, I don't see the EAF :(
For testing, I've created a profile very simple : One CCD and the EAF

And the result is :

and

So, I don't understand why I see my two ASI (224 + 1600) and not my EAF if I indicate only one camera and the EAF.

If I keep my classic configuration :

I don't see my EAF and I haven't an error message

An idea ?
Thank you.

Did you also add in in the optical train?

Your profile and optical trains are OK. If you changed all the cables..etc then I suspect the only remaining issue is that the RPI is somehow bad. This happens very rarely but it does happen. I just tested ASI EAF with StellarMate and it's detected fine, so it's definitely not a driver issue. It could be a USB conflict issue as well, but I don't see if you tried connecting ONLY ASI EAF?

Create profile with this:
Telescope Simulator
CCD Simulator
ASI EAF

and physically, nothing connected to StellarMate BUT ASI EAF.
