broken pipe?

This is essentially a problem with some debian packages.. unfortunately, you might encounter them from time to time. I already mentioned on indilib.org/download/ubuntu.html what do do about such errors:

I only ever use the SM updater and it DOES NOT update Ubuntu version, it must be set that way, as SM will not run on 18.04 hence why they come with 16.04 on them....
I have never experienced any issues at all when updating, like you have...in 18 months of owning it.. :)

You still need the Ubuntu repositories I have them, but it only updates the 16.04 version, it does not upgrade to 18.04 not sure how that works, but there are updates for 16.04 that you need sometimes....!!

thanks for the info. I'l look into those. I have several some are xenien? (sp?) It might be fine to turn them on now that it's cleaned up. I do remember it asking me if I wante to upgrade ubuntu from 16 - to 18. I said yes until it told me the size and time needed. So maybe if I turn them on now it will be restrained ;-)

Well, i e has never been an issue, it’s as it was when set up on SD card, all I do is run the updater, and any updates it finds I install, I guess you have messed yours up slightly, I would redo the SD card and then leave well alone part from the usual updates.. :)

Jasem,

Thank you! The: sudo apt-get -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-overwrite" -f install command fixed the error message problem.
Quick question: I'm running Stellarmate OS on two RPIs chained together for a distributed network. Everything is identical except that on one, the updater worked flawlessly and on the other I got the error, which seems very odd to me since they are identical RPIs and installations...??? (Except now one is updated and the other isn't.) So my question is: When do you recommend running an update and is it always best to use the "Software Updater" you have on the desktop?

Thanks again, and THANK YOU for all your hard work. After a couple months of learning, trial and error, building and configuring a new rig, I'm just about to deploy my Stellarmates. Can't wait! What you've built is nothing short of remarkable!

Ran the desktop updater after fixing the error and it updated perfectly without issue. I must have run the updater from Ubuntu drop-down menu and not the Stellarmate desktop. Lesson learned.
