It looks like the OS ignores all changes I made in config.txt. For example, I rotated the display for my external touchscreen, I changed screen resolution in the config.txt. But it doesn't take any effect, why ??
On 1.3 it still works as expected.

for resolution changes, use raspi-config until I add support to change resolution in stellarmate tools.

We are working on an app update to be released in about 10-14 days so stay tuned.

Hi Jasem,

I tried raspi-config but is has very limited options to choose. And even those don't take any affect after reboot. For example, the appearence of the screen stays exactly the same after changing resolution.
I have a 7" touchscreen attached to my Pi 3b+, and the right side of the screen is off ( about 50 pixels missing I guess ). I cannot enter any overscan values in raspi-config, it only enables overscan... Looks like I am pretty stuck with this.
Where is the config file where raspi-config is writing to, and can I edit there more options like screen rotation, overscan value ?

You can look inside raspi-config (it's just a script) to see what's going on and they use tvservice command to set the resolution now in 18.04.

I hope to get some time so I can have a frontend to that soon.

Jasem, I just realized my idea of testing to see if a new version was ready as a bad idea. My download count increases even when I click "cancel". Is there a way to reset that number?

Don't worry about it.
