I am trying to set up a Shoestring BT2EQ5 adapter on Stellarmate 1.4.2. This adapter worked flawlessly in 1.3.1. I can pair the device and trust it. When the serial port is connected it connects to rfcomm1 instead of rfcomm0. Ekos will connect to rfcomm1 and the devive will work. Upon rebooting the device must be paired and trusted again. Any thoughts?
yeah that was my attempt at automatic binding, but I don't believe it's working correctly yet. I'll put some time aside for this once I get the major milestones cleared.
Now rfcomm0 is available. However every time I start stellarmate I must pair and trust my BT2EQ5 then connect to the serial port. Is there any way to to make the connection permanent?
That's what I wanted to do, but very little time available to work on it. The plan is to make a wizard in the web manager (like serial port assistant) for bluetooth so that it auto-pair and auto-bind on bootup. It's on my TODO list, but no ETA yet.
Hi, maybe this help you.
- First you have to create /etc/rc.local archive, see this post, is very easy... vpsfix.com/community/server-administrati...04-heres-what-to-do/
- Then you have to add one line of code before "exit 0"...
rfcomm bind hic0 XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX 1 &
where XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX is your bluetooth device MAC address (BT2EQ5 in your case)
Then restart your SM, open Ekos, connect to your mount by selecting rfcomm0 and probably request the PIN, and that's it! Mark the BT2EQ5 as a trust device, restart again and maybe the next time it doesn't even ask for the PIN.
