Hello,
I'm having problems with my GPS, I'm getting the time but not the location (NO FIX)
I only have this problem on Buster, I didn't have the problem with the previous version.
Do you have any ideas on how to fix it?

Current configuration :
Raspberry PI 4
Sellermate 5.1.5

Sorry for my English, this is not my native language.

This problem usually is caused by only 1 satellite being visible to the Antenna.

Is the USB GPS Antenna located in an outside and open area with a good view of the sky?
Sometimes, if a GPS has not been used for a long time, in a particular location, it can take an extended amount of time to get a fix while it updates ephemeris data, which gets drip-fed from the Satellite signals, I've seen this take upto 20 minutes or so sometimes.

Thank you for your answer, when I look with the GSPD tools, with the command "cgps -s", I see after a while, between 4 and 10 satellites.
The GPS antenna is well positioned outside, I think it's well placed, because when I connect the GPS on an RPI3 on Ubuntu Mate, I have the location, like with Windows.

OK, so, immediately after booting I see what you probably see:

Then, once it has the information you see something like this:

What is important is that the SNR for the Satellites is reasonably high, and stable, if it is not then the GPS is not communicating with the Satellites effectively.

The "Used" column only turns to "Y" when the satellite is being used to get a fix, if you have 2 "y" satellites you can get a 2D fix, if you have 3 "y" satellites or more, then you might get a 3D Fix or a 3D DIFF Fix.

So I'm closing my application, the GPS is synchronized after 1s to 2s.
Maybe the update I did yesterday, maybe the reboot on the Raspberry PI4, maybe a clearer sky today, than yesterday.

Anyway, it works, but I don't really know why ;-)

Sorry for asking you for nothing.

Not a problem at all :cheer:

It was probably just downloading the ephemeris data, and once it was updated it was able to use the satellites properly.
