Lost the Menu button after update

Hello,
After an update a few weeks ago I lost the Menu button - the one in the top/left corner of the desktop.
It's actually there but it's a thin strip without an icon. Its settings seem to be OK - the path to the icon (/etc/stellarmate/icon.png) is correct and the icon.png opens in an image viewer just fine.
Installed a large update today (including SM 1.5.3) - that didn't fix it.
Any idea on how to fix this (I am not good with Linux)?

Thanks!

I just updated and experienced the same issue. I can't get it to display the graphic. I did find that if you increase the "padding" value from 0 to 1 at least you'll get a larger space instead of just the skinny little strip -- so it's easier to click on -- but still no graphic.

Also, the Image Viewer app is missing (gwenview). I had to open a Terminal window and do a 'sudo apt install gwenview' to re-install it. I'm not sure why the update removed it.

This is a raspbian update issue, for now right-click on the "missing" icon place and then edit it and set the name to start-here

Then it would display an icon. This is fixed in 1.5.3 coming up soon.

To add/expand on Jasem's post, I needed to right-click on the missing icon location, then select "menu settings" (1st option) in the pop-up. That produces a 2nd "Menu" pop-up. Add string "start-here" (no quotes), and WITHOUT a path specifier in the icon field. I added some padding (10); not sure that was necessary. The result is a raspberry in the correct location. Cheers, Doug
