Problems when mapping the Pegasus PPBA with SM Serial Port Assistant

I am adding the Pegasus Powerbox Advance (PPBA) to my setup.
It has been giving serial connection errors all the day. Now is working with a simple profile: only my Nikon camera (plus shutter relay) and the telescope simulator.

My question is: Is it possible to map the PPBA to a fixed port with the Stellarmate Serial Port Assistant ?

I mapped it as /dev/pegasus. In the raspi (Stellarmate 1.3.5) a rules file was created in /lib/udev/rules.d with the SYMLINK+="pegasus".
However, no pegasus symlink appeared in /dev. So if I assign the port /dev/pegasus in the PPBA driver I get a Series Connection Error.

Is this expected ? Why the symlink was not created ?

Thanks in advance

I just bought one of these (PPBA) and if I had any hair left I'd be pulling it out.

I spent all day with Serial Port Assistant trying to map my ports but I'm defeated.

Jabian, did you ever get this working? Any advice?

I've tried PPBA on both StellarMate and ubuntu-mate 20.04 in the latest stable INDI and KStars, with no joy.

Thanks!

Now ppba is working fine on stellarmate OS.

In my setup I found a folder in /dev/serial/by-id with symlinks pointing to different USB ports.
One of these simlinks was "usb-Pegasus_Astro_PPBADV_revA_PPBA4PSFVS-if00-port0".
The symlink was pointing to ../../ttyUSB1.

In INDI, I set the name of the communication port as in the symlink:
/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Pegasus_Astro_PPBADV_revA_PPBA4PSFVS-if00-port0

And that is !
Previously I mapped the ppba with the serial port assistant but probably this is not necessary because ppba is not a serial to USB device..
Hope this also works for you.
