Meridian Flip - hit the tripod

Actually, the meridian flip never failed me before.
I didn't do it since August, I believe.
Tonight it failed - went in a wrong direction and hit the tripod.
I suppose that's just because I use a beta Windows KStars client from mid-October (with multi-star guiding but without the internal solver).
Just reporting... Nothing broke - all is well.

Please check whether the Meridian Flip checkbox is still checked. There was a bug recently that cleared the selection. And please post the logs.

Wolfgang - thanks!
I am not complaining.
I'll wait until 3.5.0 is released.
Last night and tonight did manual flips just to be on a save side.

Didn't perceive it as complaint :-)

I just want to make sure that there is no untreated bug hanging around. Therefore I would really appreciate receiving the logs, since beside the bug I described, there we no changes in the MF code (as far as I know).

Max,
it looks like the mount initiated the meridian flip, but shortly after changing pier side there was a problem with limits:
[2020-11-07T22:05:33.508 Pacific Standard Time INFO ][ org.kde.kstars.indi] - EQMod Mount : "[WARNING] Horizon Limits: Scope at AZ=3.782 ALT=-0.731 is outside limits. Nothing to abort. "

I do not exactly understand why the last message was issued - maybe the scheduler aborted the job and you have parking selected when all jobs are finished or aborted.

Yes. The log shows exactly what has happened.
The mount went off limits (below horizon), hit the tripod. I noticed that the mount stopped slewing (while being away from the mount and just watching ekos/kstars), so I tried to stop and park it.

Anyway, it was just a strange glitch.
Tonight, I braved-up and let the system do the auto-flip again (after several nights of doing it manually). It went smoothly.
Same setup. No updates.
Go figure...

Thanks!

I think I found what might provoke this. At least I found a possible common denominator...

Yesterday the flip failed again. The scope went under horizon and hit the tripod.
The night before I was shooting the same target with no issues.
Tonight it failed again - I was watching it, so had a chance to stop the slewing.
So,

session 1 - used Find Object to find/slew/align. Flip - OK.
session 2 - used Load & Slew (loaded an image from session 1). Flip - FAIL.
session 3 - used Load & Slew (loaded an image from session 1). Flip - FAIL.

While I was watching it during the session 3, I noticed that the system did load the same image as I started with to figure out the coordinates but slewed in a wrong direction.
I stopped the slew. Performed Load & Slew with the same image - after that everything went well.

So, Load & Slew when close to the meridian may possibly cause meridian flip to fail?

Unfortunately, I did not have the logging to file enabled...
