There are a number of things different with the new CEM120ec's. The hand controller is new. The firmware has been updated a number of times. The current version of the INDI driver will not slew the mount not allow guidance by KStars.
Oh oh. Is there a firmware update for older CEM120 EC2’s that I need to avoid?
iOptron CEM120 EC2 and CEM25P
Celestron C11 EdgeHD and William Optics Star71
ASI 1600MM Pro, ASI 462MC
Moonlight Litecrawler (C11) and Motorfocus (WOStar71)
LodeStar X2 and ZWO OAG
Nextdome, AAG Cloudwatcher

I just looked on IOptron’s website and I have the latest firmware (Oct2021) and it’s running fine.

No. I don't . Sorry. I read that the v3 (the current iOptron version for the CEM-120) connects just fine in KStars and will do everything except update the time from the GPS, nor will it make the mount move in R.A. or DEC. When I try to move the scope an ERROR message appears in the debug windows. It just says "ERROR". I'd love to help. How do I get there logs?
Mine runs fine as stand-alone. I 'm having problems with StellarMate making the telescope move at all. StellarMate runs everything else just fine. The INDI driver appeard to be out of date/ non existent for the CEM-120EC.
Just made a short log of the problems I'm having. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you want to contact me directly. Good Day!
I think the baud rate needs to be changed to 115200.. can you try changing baud rate in INDI Control Panel --> iOptron --> Options and then connect again?
Dang! You're good! The mount slews with the INDI tabs and with the StellarMate Motion Controller window just fine. No other issues to report. Thanks again. It's nice to see REAL support for software. I wish I was more tech saavy so I could avoid bothering you with issues like this but I'm learning slowly.
