Titles says it all. Kstars drops to OS - I rerun it and click "Start" and errors all over the place because it changes to "simulators" profile?
So I thought - why not delete all other profiles so it can't pick the wrong one? (I see no delete profile).
This happens a LOT. I have a problem and scratch my head (wtf)? and learn that the default profile I always used as been changed.

You can remove a unwanted profile by selecting the profile you want to remove and then press the minus sign (-)

Well, it can be done, I just did but you have to use DB Browser to modify the database so I'm not sure that's recommended at all, I think it's better if Jasem would "force" the profile creation at first run with Ekos ??

except for the sims file. hahaha figures - of course the fix would be to make a profile "default" and always load the default profile. (what I was WISHING for). = )

Well it does since Simulators is the default profile when KStars starts. It seems to me that you'd better try to solve the errors you get. Whenever Kstars shuts down (without errors that is) it will select the previously selected profile and all you need to do is start Ekos to get going.

The LAST profile you ran should be selected the next time you run KStars. If it _always_ starts with the simulators profile, then KStars is not able to save the settings for some reason.

The only profile that cannot be deleted is simulators profile. On first run with no profile, Ekos profile wizard runs to ask you to create a new profile.

I've never used the sims profile. I only use mine. After a crash it often defaults to sims and I have errors and well I wasted a lot of time looking for what caused the errors... then I noticed that the profile had changed. Doesn't mean it has to be done. But the forum topic said POST YOUR WISHES HERE. So I have.
I'm aware that all my wishes don't always come true.

Still it's one of my wishes. I think I posted my top 5 wishes. Maybe I'm limited to 3?

Normal behaviour is the last profile you use will be selected when you restart KStars, as Jasem said. But if KStars was not closed properly (crash) it will not remember that information. Try using your chosen profile for a moment, and then close KStars down cleanly. The next time it should be the correct profile.
