Default Parking Time

I would love the mount by default to park itself.
Or a checkbox to be defaulted... to park as a set time every day.

Example, always park at 3:30am (or your picked time) every day.

I remember most of the time, but have had situations where I forgot to reset the parking time. Night before last was one of those nights. I got up and saw my scope was all catawonked . Good thing my SCT was short enough not to crash into my pier.

But you have to update the time... each time and Remember to hit the start button (the step I miss sometimes).

I would like a default park time, if not already parked.

What about selecting the parking option of the Scheduler? As soon as your scheduler jobs are through, the mount will park.

That does require the use of the Scheduler which is not what you might always want. But yes, that certainly is an option.

Please note I reported this bug in the Scheduler

I think this would be more steps to do and remember to do. Expensive damage to scope and mount happens if your forget, but just inconvenience if your imaging ends early (which means you could set your default to later in the morning).

Again... forgot to set a parking time after I had a couple crashes. However just before going to bed I remembered and was able to set it while it was still shooting.

If only I had a daily default parking time. If only ;)

What about using a schedule with a define end time and selecting "Park Mount" as shutdown option?

It still requires that I 'remember' to do it. Defaults are nice things systems do that take some of the minutiae out of the process.

Generally I do it right away when starting up for the night. But if I have to park for some reason or the system crashes... then it's something to remember again. And for some reason it always defaults to today's date in the date dropdown box. So it's doing some of it, just the wrong day. Who would auto park in the same day?

We'd all be saying the same thing if you had to put your camera info in each time you used it (and it didn't warn you that you hadn't done it).

Blankitty, blank, blank blank!!!

This is what I woke up to this morning. I had a KStars crash and I forgot to reset the park time. Please can we get a default park time (don't use it if you don't want it)
No damage as far as I can tell, but the camera was touching the mount. Boy, this could have been expensive.

Why don‘t you select the meridian flip option? It works independently and could have avoided this situation.

Oh man, I forgot about that choice. I had that selected on the RPi3 and forgot it on the 4.

Although I had this on the RPi3, I still had close calls with my scope crashing into my pier if I forgot to set the park time.

Just because the flip is enabled, once it flips it can still keep tracking until it hits the mount... at least that's been my experience.

I usually forget about the Park time after a crash and I'm in a hurry to get things back up and running (aligning, and back taking pictures). I do try to remember, but as you know we have a lot going on.
