Hello

Certainly it can be used with a UVC camera, but with a UVC capture module (like the link below), the shutter cannot be controlled with the current Ekos and you can see the preview, but the operation with each module Will not be possible. .. ..

It would be nice if a high-performance security camera could be used using a capture module like the one above.

Have you tried turning stacking on (In Main Control tab)? One of my webcam does not have shutter control, it can only stream (like your uvc module) but with stackingi it works.

Thank you for contacting us.

I haven't tried selecting a stack.

Then check if the shutter can be controlled.

Since the video signal can be branched and used, I thought it would be convenient to use a high-sensitivity security camera that uses SDI signals.

The EAA system with Ekos is complete with the information you receive!

Since this system can branch the video signal, it can be on- axis guide, and the alignment module can also be used, so I think that it can create an ideal EAA environment that can also be used for plate solving.

Thank you for information.
(I will post on the blog later that the operation check was successful!)

What cameras do you use with capture madule? Could you post some pictures? I bought cheap Aptina AR130 usb cam on alliex for 15$. and use it for guiding. I wonder if you could use IMX290 security cam with better effects? Or it will be worse because you don't have uncompressed frames.

The capture module is linked.

I bought a camera with IMX385 from AliExpress.

To use it with Ekos, it was necessary to combine driver items such as monochrome mode, motion Jpeg for capture, and live stacking set with the driver.

Thank you very much.
I can see you have already tried your setup.
I can't make Skywacher AltAz driver guide with Virtuoso mount in indi. Have you managed to do that?

I have been using it in INDI even before the ASCOM driver of SkyWatcher came out.

There is a problem with the Park feature and the recently added "Dome Park lock", but you can use it if you avoid it.
Immediately after canceling the Park function, press the stop button on the mount controller to stop it before using it. (Bug that doesn't heal)
