I'm also planning something similar on the long term. Mainly to escape the rainy conditions and have the scope a few 1000 km's further to the south.
I think if you have a really automated observatory, you should put more $$ in the pc's. You really need some kind of ups so you can park the scope & close the roof when power shuts down. I think you'll need some kind of stable and powerful server that is powered on nonstop.
