To set the frame size to 1280 x 960 you need to ensure the bytes in the file are set to the following:

Address: Value
0x001A: 0x00
0x001B: 0x05
0x001C: 0x00
0x001D: 0x00
0x001E: 0xC0
0x001F: 0x03
0x0020: 0x00
0x021F: 0x00

I just tried with your broken SER file and it fixed the file.
