Today I prepared a new SD card with the latest Stellarmate 64-bit (basically a copy of the card used in my first post)
and set it up to use with an AZ-GTi mount and a Nikon D5500 DSLR.
Used the same USB cable to the camera.
Now I am getting 8 sec download times with NEF and less than 2 sec with FITS.
Much better - I like this!
Don't understand why it improved...
