Great!

Any input on the f-stop settings? Does the driver set custom f-stop ratios? i.e. does 1 on the INDI driver control panel equal f1? Or does it move the shutter to f2.8 as that is the native fastest f-stop on this particular lens. I am pretty sure there is a f22 in the native Canon design so that one would match up. The way the lens aperture ring moves when this setting is changed is that it first opens all the way wide open then closes to the INDI driver selected setting so it is difficult to see the difference when just looking at the mechanism when making a change between the INDI setting of 1 and 2.

I unplugged one of the USB A cables ends from the back of the iMac and replugged it in and it connected right away. Focus seems to work while testing it on my bench with my 200mm f2.8. F-stops are set in increments from 1-22. I do not know if this corresponds to custom f ratio set points or if it is approximating the closest Canon f-stop.

Looks like this driver needs to be moved to the focuser driver folder. Should be fun to test it out under the stars hopefully soon

The closest thing I found was in the AO list of drivers under Astromechanics FOC. This does not connect.

I just received my Astromechanics Canon lens focuser and I can not find the driver to set it up in the profile editor.

Is it under a different name?

Oh. That's disappointing. If you are interested in further development of this driver, should we put together a list of commands or protocols that you would like to see?

Ez W created a new topic ' kstars 3.2.0 MacOSX initial test' in the forum. 5 years ago

I just installed the latest stable 3.2.0 onto OSX 10.13.6. I downloaded it from edu.kdu.

The ZWO camera software seems to work again for me and I can connect and download images from the 071MCPro and my 1600MMPro cameras again. I have not gotten the CFW3 filter wheel to connect and work yet. One time it connected and allowed for 4 filter slots, but would not rotate through them. The second attempt would not connect at all. The third attempt using the CFW2 option connect and would allow rotating through the wheel, but would only allow for 5 filters. This was even after I set the option to 7 in the main control tab for the filter wheel.

Good to see the ZWO cameras operational again. Thanks for the continuing hard work!

Ez W created a new topic ' How to install INDI lib 1.7.7 on MacOSX' in the forum. 5 years ago

Excuse me if I have asked this before about an older version but, I see that INDI lib 1.7.7 was released on github. I am wondering if it is possible to install it on my mac or do I have to do some special recompile magic? Some of the issues that I am having may be fixed with the driver updates therein. I downloaded it but can not find where it would go.

the 071 was my first astro camera. the sensor would ice up, then the heater would defrost a grid pattern over the sensor. This happened when cooling lower than -10. (so always). Luckily ZWO allowed me to send it back and swap for the 1600MM back then. (that's made me a ZWO fan and I always shop/consider ZWO first now. (I have a 174 and a 094 as well as the 1600mmpro). I've heard a lot of other people having this same freezing problem. did you get it repaired? on yours?

I sent it in and they fixed what was causing my issues before. So far it seems to be working correctly. I posted about this on CN. The temp probe was failing, the sensor was getting fogged and iced up, so far that hasn't happened again, but I have only tested in Oakland,CA and Joshua Tree. Neither of these locations are very cold or very humid. The data from Joshua tree is exceptionally smooth and I like the camera. I would just also like to be able to use it on my Mac with EKOS again.

I forgot to add that I am not guiding at all with this setup. The issue is such that I can not use the program at all. It will not download even one sub. It never did it with the 1600 until the continuous loop started happening with the 071, now it is stuck this way for both cameras. Very disappointing. I had to downgrade to 2.9.8 to get the sesto senso to operate, I can't use the QHY filter wheel at all and now the cameras don't download at all. Even for platesolves or focusing.

As soon as I plug the cameras into the NUC via NINA or ASICAP or directly connect them to my Macs with ASICAP they work fine. They work fine via hubs and with filter wheel and guiders plugged into the camera USB hubs.

My 1600MMPro and 071MCPro both have this issue and there is no fix for me yet. I have tried plugging directly into two different computers and I get the same response. I tried removing any USB2 peripherals from the camera hubs, I tried different USB hubs, different USB cables, restarting kstars, restarting the computers, disconnecting and reconnecting cameras and different versions of kstars. No luck with any of them. When I connect either camera into ZWO's ASICAP or NINA on windows everything works fine as usual. Something in the communication between EKOS and the ASI cameras is stuck in some loop. I have not tried reinstalling kstars yet.

Yeah, in the past I have had this behavior when taking short flats as well. I usually had to restart the app and that fixed it. Now it is stuck in a constant loop with two different ASI cameras, on two different machines and 3 different versions of the Kstars. If I change the exposure times, it does the same loop issue and never downloads. It doesn't matter if it is 500secs or .6secs.

Happens the same way on my office computer which is an iMac running the 10.13.6 . This is tested in kstars 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 . The same behavior is happening with my 1600MMPro which has worked great until this.

My 071McPro stop downloading images. It loses connection sometimes as well. In the camera tab, when I hit preview I can see the countdown timer running to 0. When it gets to zero no images are downloaded and then the countdown restarts. This will go on indefinitely. Disconnect and reconnect do nothing to fix it. Unplugging and replugging the USB cable in does nothing. Restarting Kstars does nothing. Restarting the computer does nothing. I get the same result in 2.9.8, 3.0.0, 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 . This camera was mostly working without issue two weeks ago (last time I was able to image). I had seen similar behavior before when doing flats, but it was off and on. I have tried the USB traffic speeds from 90-40 and all in between. I have tried a bunch of different USB 3 cables of differing lengths. If I disconnect the camera and then use the ASICAP application from ZWO, everything seems to work again in that app.

I have a 1600mmPro that I will try today and see if that one works. Since it is the same driver, perhaps the 071 camera itself is having issues? I had to send it back to China once already for serious fogging and temp probe issues.
