Hi moxican,

I seem to remember I had this happen a while back and I think that it was a problem that is pretty well known. Having said that I can't quite remember what I did to fix it. :( I think that it is related to quitting the program in a certain way and it leaves a file in your home directory that makes phd2 think that you have an instance already running.
I did find the answer on Cloudy Nights I think but it was a while ago now.
You could just try opening up your home directory (ensure that you can see hidden files by going to the "view" sub menu and check "see hidden files". Try renaming the phd2 related file there (you can restore this if it does not work then) and see if that works.
If you need to delete phd2 you just do sudo apt-get remove phd2 then sudo apt-get install phd2 to reinstall.
I think that this would be OK in Astroberry. But be aware that Astroberry is all preconfigured and sometimes removing one package can affect others.
I always have a cloned SD card as a fall back in these situations. It is easy to do by using the SD card copier in the accessories menu. I would do this before you make any major changes.

I am sorry I can't be sure of the solution but it may point you in the right direction.

Mike
