After the update to 3.3.8 I experienced following issue on a friends Ekos:
A preview (or sequence) exposure will not finish until I disconnect the two other devices (Mount & Focuser) from Ekos.
My first thought was a PC (USB bus problem), but I'm not sure that it is. Maybe someone can shed a light on it?
Here's the debug log:
File Attachment:File Name: log_19-11-52.txt
File Size: 253 KB
I couldn't locate any INDI logs, so hopefully the debug log will tell us something.
Thanks in advance.
I have no trouble at all connecting my CEM40 to a PC when I follow these instructions:
I use the USB port on the mount, to make it work you need to install the FTDI driver on the PC: www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
These instructions should also work for a CEM120 (if the USB port is used). I noticed the 'Install FTDI driver' part is not in the CEM120 instructions, so that may be the culprit.
Are the advanced settings for the Sesto Senso focus-motor somewhere available to be manipulated/set?
When used on my Crayford, it accelerates so fast, it's causing slippage.
Would be handy to be able to set these advanced parameters in my opinion, or as an alternative, the quick settings.
Update, I avoided the live stream, but had other crashes.
I found out it happened while loading images to the Skymap. So I un-installed some of the add-ons I had installed in the 'Data - Download New Data' menu and the crash never happened again.
My guess: It was one of those add-ons.
The Target selected was the Moon, and I run KStars in English, so I don't know why it wants to translate.
If it's handy, we can schedule a convenient time for you and you can generate the crash yourself in teamviewer.
And it happened again, but now I have more info, I was streaming live video from my ASI1294MC Pro with debayering on while a crash happened.
After the crash the same symptoms as before, crash a couple seconds after startup.
Hope this helps...
I deleted the kstars folder in home/.local/share and now it starts again, had configure again, but that's always better than no KStars
I copied the folder before deleting, so if anyone does find out what's wrong, maybe I can salvage some.
I closed a working session of KStars, mount was already outside, so it stayed powered on, moved my PC also outside, reconnected and KStars crashes repeatedly a couple of seconds after startup.
I attached 2 logs from the bug reporting tool, hope it helps to pin it down.
Can I delete any of the config files to get it to start again? If yes, please advise which and where.
Okay, I think I got the SDK installed, not sure however.
I did a test in Ekos capture module, but still had a few 'stalls'
Like I mentioned, I'm not sure if I did everything right with the build, I'm far from a Linux expert
Thanks, hopefully it will give some improvements.
This is really frustrating
In my search on Amazon for a c-mount lens to use on my ASI120MM, I ended up buying not only a lens but with it a USB webcam for under 80 euro's.
The camera has a Sony IMX322 sensor, and in sharpcap it delivers a pretty good image (now in the daytime).
Would this camera be of any use for imaging or guiding? I tried it in Ekos, and there it works, but I'm not sure how it will perform at night.
Suggestions and/or tips are welcome.
I am experiencing an issue with my touptek camera.
When taking exposures, it will start the exposure and sometimes never finishes it, exposure timer counts down, and upon it reaches zero the image doesn't get downloaded.
Aborting the exposure and restarting it a couple of times does resume and complete it correctly for a few exposures, but the issue than sticks it's head up again.
Log file is attached.
