I have to disagree. Ekos works well with i digo server. The problem is that ekos is hardcoded to work with indiserver. We can not make it to support start and stop of indigo. On the other hand indigo server is not always required if you run properindigo client.
Stash, indigo is not concentrated to Mac. Indigo is native to linux and Mac. And the client library is also windows native. It just happend that the there is more client software on mac. But with Pixinsight and APT, windows it will be also well supported. And yes you are correct indigo does not have native linux clients but this is changing. However all indi clients work against indigo server but in legacy mode. By the way have you tried ekos against indigo? It works
I do not know how mature INDI is. But it is definitly older. By the way what do you think anout the news that pixinsight is migrating from INDI to INDIGO. i think that tells a lot about the maturity...
Soon after Pixinsight announced that they will support INDIGO, APT team announced that they will go INDIGO way too.
On the other hand INDIGO initiative will release free INDIGO.SKY operating system image for Raspberry Pi, similar to Stellarmate and AsiAir but free and powered by INDIGO, you just have to posess RPI
see the official announcement here:
Those Andor Cameras also work with indigo!
I am glad to announce that INDIGO (
) is fully in to the professional astronomy. After the Andor driver now we have ASCOL driver (the protocol used to control several 1 and 2 meter telescopes modernized by ProjectSoft). Now our 2m RC equipped with two Andor iKonL and one Andor Newton can be controlled with INDIGO. Please see some attached screenshots and picture of the Telescope
first i have fo finish the qhy driver for INDIGO. This will probably take about a month as i am on vacation now and after that i will need at least a week to catch up at work. And then i may be able to start work on linguider. It should not take too much a probably a couple of weeks... so i would say late June early July at earliest.
I do not think there is any chance for Lin-guider to have native INDI support. But INDIGO support for Lin-guider is on my TODO list
This way it will be able to connect to both INDIGO and INDI, as INDIGO id backwards compatible with INDI...
