Problem solved.

It seems that KStars was tracking at Lunar rate, and Ekos was at Sidereal. I had to search for a target in the mount control box for it to switch to Sidereal. No idea who that happened, and I would have thought KStars auto selects Sidereal when goto or sync on a star is completed?

Thanks, I've never really done this before so I apologise for my naivety. I've now enabled verbose logging, output as file (should I set it as default?) with Capture, Alignment, Guide and Mount selected in Ekos, with Mount drivers selected, too.

Will try again tonight and post the log file after.

Hey everyone! I've been using EKOS for a few months on Mac and I absolutely love it! However, very recently I have found an issue that's making me pull my hair out.

I first discovered this issue this week when attempting to plate solve. The Dec axis seemed to solve fine, but the RA would go to about 50 arc seconds out, and would not get any closer with further iterations. Instead it would slowly move further away and then loop back.

I then discovered that the mount (NEQ6) seemed to not be tracking at sidereal. I had to loop the guide cam (not guiding) to see a guide star moving slowly outside of the box.

I've made sure that tracking is on, at sidereal rate.
KStars doesn't have the FOV or EQMOD pointer moving away as time goes on, it seems to think the mount is tracking as normal.
I've restarted, reinstalled and deleted the library files.
I've made sure the mount is polar aligned (firstly just through the polar scope, but also through the EKOS PA feature).
I've used separate USB ports for the mount.
I've checked balance and no cables are tugging the mount.

I can still capture round stars by guiding (albeit 2 minute subs with a wide FOV), and I have managed to get the mount to track at sidereal a couple of times over the last few days - I just don't know how! I'm sure I've not done any extra steps to get it to work these times.

Because I have managed to get it working a couple of times, I thought I'd come on here to see if I've missed a setting or step in the workflow somewhere.

Thanks in advance,
Jamie.
