So basically capture and solve for your primary scope/camera doesnt work/?
Whats your primary scopes focal length and what FOV is the alignment module stating for this scope/camera configuration?
Maybe a screenshots of your setup might help,its probably something simple.
All the plate solving issues I have had have turned out to be my error rather than EKOS issues
I use inbuilt IPOLARs with both skyguider pro and GEM45EC .If I need a longer exposure than 1 minute,which i typically do; i just enable the stacking option .Works fine with the alignment modules polar alignment feature.
Make sure it is set to 1280x960 in image settings or it wont work.Mine doesnt default to this.
So it turns out that the calculated FOV with the version of INDI with astroberry was caluclaing a FOV of for the same camera/scope combination.
The same combination on my stellarmate device gives a FOV of 35.4 x23.7 arcmins
Plate solving works fine with this FOV.
hmm I just thought to try load and slew in the alignment module on a 300 sec sub that i took using the described combination and it resolved it.
It could just be i wasnt doing a long enough exposure for plate solving....I guess i wasnt allowing for the 2.4 micron pixels at f6.3
Ill confirm tonight.
Does this combination give too small an image scale??
INDI calculates a FOV of 16.6 x 11.7 arc mins in the alignment module which should fall into the astrometry-data-4205 index files range which I have installed.
However i cant get plate solving to work
I can solve @ 1280mm using a cannon 60Da and an ASI294 and I have used the ASI183 @ 390mm( hyperstar) on the C8 but i cant get it to solve on this more zoomed in configuration of using the C8 and a 0.63 focal reducer and an ASI183.
I have my guide scope and main scope pretty well aligned so i can get the scope pretty close by solving with my guide scope/cam. However to get that last bit of accuracy and to find out the field rotation i need to be able to solve through the imaging scope.
This is using astroberry btw . It has just occurred to me i havn't tried this using stellarmate...
Maybe worth a go tonight..clouds permitting.

I already have the new mount a CEM25p , purchased a while ago.

i believe the subframing message was a red herring.With my a7sii i only needed to start camera profile via the INDI web manager interface on astroberry but with the A7RIII i needed to and manually start ekos within astrroberry desktop and then start the profile from within ekos app.
Also tested it ok with stellamateOS
I am doing a little better in terms of getting it to transmit a file to the client now
But the fille isnt recognised as a RAW file in siril or darktable. Complains that the filehas unknown format.
If i remove the .arw extension it opens as a jpeg in gwenviwer.
Could it have something to do with the below from my log file.

What frame size is ekos expecting me to set for an A7RIII?
With capture target set to RAM and Upload settings set to client the image file doesnt get transmitted through to ekos my desktop PC (client)machine.
It will only work in "save local" mode.
I get an exit code -1 error when trying to get the astroberry to transmit the file to my PC ( save client mode)

With an A7Riii it is saving "native" captures as a jpeg. Camera is 100% set as uncompressed RAW.Works ok with saving as a fits file
And it also works fine from the command line with gphoto2
My A7SII works fine either way so im prettry confident about how i have ekos set..
I have also set up and got working my canon camera but id really like to get RAW files to work on my A7RIII
took the camera out of bulb mode (duh its all these late nights )
In ekos/gphoto i was till getting a 1/10th exposure from capture mod,then added CCD information to the jpb properties which then set a 1/8000th exposure ,metadata and all.
For anything under a second my metadata shows the exposure time as 1/10th which is a bit disconcerting when trying to verify your data . However when making test shots at a given FSTOP/ISO i can see the images are getting darker up until the point of 1/1000th.So the software is setting the exposure correctly up until this point.
When trying to make Bias frame @1/8000 I get a bright image so unsure what value it used to expose.It was brighter than the images i made at 1/10th?!
