Hey Everyone,
I’m trying to connect my CG5 and am having some issues. When I try to run service, it says the Celestron Nexstar driver has crashed. I assume this is because the serial port address is not correct. The address should be “cu.usbserial” but I see in the documentation:

Set the correct port in the INDI Control Panel under the Devices menu. The default device is /dev/ttyS0

The Control Panel option is unfortunately grayed out and I can’t select it. Are there any other workarounds to changing the serial port address?

Hi Everyone,

I'm having trouble connecting my CG5. I am using a "Washinglee USB to RJ9 Cable" to connect to the nexstar hand control. I try to connect through Tools > Devices > Device Manager > Telescopes > Celestron Nexstar > "Run Service". But then I get the following error:

020-11-13T04:14:48: startup: /Applications/KStars.app/Contents/MacOS/indi/indiserver -v -p 7624 -m 300 -r 0 -f /tmp/indififo...[removed]

2020-11-13T04:14:48: Driver indi_celestron_gps: Terminated after #0 restarts.

I'm pretty sure it is because the serial port address is wrong. When I connect with other software packages (Stellarium or AstroTelescope), I do so by changing the serial port from /dev/tty... to "/dev/cu.usbserial…".
In the Kstars documentation, it mentions something similar to this:

"By default, KStars will try to connect to the /dev/ttyS0 port. To change the connection port, select INDI Control Panel from the Tools → Devices submenu and change the port under your device tab."

But this is where my problem is! I can't actually get to "INDI Control Panel" because it is greyed out (I think it's greyed out since I'm not able to "Run Service" on the mount).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can change the serial port address to be "cu.usbserial..."?
