Apparently DATE-OBS field is not being populated in fits files. I've heard this from another spectroscopist.

I have been using indi/kstars/ekos for several years for astro spectroscopy, where the platesolving camera via flip mirror is separate to the spectro camera which is never platesolving as it only sees the slit spectroscopy images through the spectrograph.

Not including DATE-OBS is a total deal breaker as the isis spectroscopic reduction software commonly used by amateur spectroscopist needs it.

Is there a particular reason why the new optical trains system does not populate this field of the fits header? When using indi for actual science not just pretty pictures, the actual observation date and time are essential information.

thanks for the reply and for all the good work to all involved.

did you ever work out a way of adjusting the lock position of the ekos guide module?

Is there a way to manually adjust the lock position for the ekos guide module? I do slit spectroscopy so need to adjust the guide star position (not necessarily the star which I want on the slit) so that the target star light falls onto the reflective slit of the spectrograph (which the guide camera is viewing).

PHD2 has this capability (brings up a little 4 button dialog box for "adjust lock position" (can also save/restore lock position) and I guess ekos guide module might also but I can't find it.

I have the same problem.

Camera is a qhy2pro. It does not actually report a valid temperature in the fits file though, it just says 1e6. The camera doesn't have its own temperature sensor as thermoelectric cooler control is by an external box which doesn't talk to the camera.

Would be nice to see this feature working.
