Thank you for your reply.
Using those tools, it looks like Linux sees the device, but disconnects it?
I have screen shots attached
Maybe Ill set up the astroberry and try lsusb and dmesg and see what they report there.

Greetings
I am trying to run Kstars/Ekos from a laptop, specs in subject line.

When connecting to Ekos from Kstars, there is a conflict message indicating the mount, ( AVX and EQ6 on Eqmod both get the same error) and Myfocuserpro2 are both attempting to connect on /dev/tty/USB0

In the Indi Control Panel, under the mount/focuser tab, Connection, System Ports is a box, Prolific_Technology_USB with no further option next to it. This is acceptable to the mounts, but the focuser throws handshake errors

When using my Raspberry Pi under Astroberry, there is an additional option Connection, System Ports, Prolific_Technology_USB, 1a86_USB2.0
When I click this option, the next line down, Ports, Port, Port, is populated by:
/dev/serial/by-id/usb/_1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0

instead of what is populated by the Linux machine which is:
/dev/serial/by-id/usb_Prolific_technology_Inc._USB-Serial_Controller_D-if00-port0

This is my first Linux machine so please forgive my ignorance.
I didn't see anything that covered this when i searched the forums

I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
Thanks,
Dave

Are any of you using Kevin's Waveshare auto focus with a raspberry pi? Would you be willing to share your settings with the driver Kevin wrote?

I was running astroberry/kstars with zwo183, zwo 120, avx mount, and a homebuilt auto focuser controlled with a waveshare hat on a raspberry pi 4 b 128G flash drive....
I crashed it last week trying to add the canon dslr camera drivers. I dont like to bother you guys, but at this point i have reinstalled, reformatted and reimaged several times. got a new sd card (64G) and still cant get back to where i was. In fact, ive got more issues than before.

I am new to linux, and I have no doubt these issues are on me, but i dont really know where my mistakes are.
Thank you in advance,
Dave
