Hi friends, sorry for my english, i'm having trouble configuring astroberry. I want to use Ekos/Kstars to control a celestron mount, model Cgem.
After connecting the mount to the raspberry using a serial adapter on the hand controller and then pressing the buttons (enter) on the controller it is possible to control the mount by sending kstars commands to search for objects and also make the plate solver successfully.
But if I just turn on the mount and don't press the controller's buttons (enter), the Ekos/Kstar system recognizes the mount, but does not recognize its position, through Kstars I can make RA and Declination movements, but when I send a command search, the montage moves to another point entirely.
As I want to control the assembly remotely in another city, I won't be able to press the buttons to make everything work.
what I would like was:
- Turn on the mount
- Enter the position coordinates it is currently in (pointed to the south pole)
- From my coordinates and time, I believe the system would know where to move the telescope, even if it doesn't hit the object
- Make a plate solver for the assembly sync its position correctly
- So I would have control of the assembly.
My question is: is this possible? is there any configuration that needs to be done in the system to force the location of the telescope position?

regards

Hi Gene, thanks for answer. excuse me if my write is bad, but, my english isn't very good. my intention is control the telescope using the internet. I like your idea about push the buttons of hand control. but i don't have knowledg to make this project.
I am using the Celestron AUX driver anda I don't have GPS.
During test I get control the mount normaly, but I need make alignment for to seach objects.
I did plate solve and the system work, but the mount not sycronize with correct coodenates. I am thinking that not is possible to do plate solver without push the hand control buttons. what do you think? is it correct?
thanks

Hello friends, I'm using astroberry to control my celetron cgem mount. I can plug in the equipment and make everything work. my goal is to prepare the observatory for remote control via the internet. At the moment I have a doubt. before I will describe how the system is interconnected, the set is connected to the controller (HC) and the controller is connected to the raspberry through the adapter cable.
in tests, I noticed that when I turn on mount and configure through controller (HC) and then turn on and configure kstars, everything works fine, mount commands work normally, but if I just turn on mount and don't configure controller and connect kstars, it seems that the program does not recognize the mount placement and the stellar object references are not correct. I don't know if I was clear, my question is if there is any configuration to operate the mount remotely without having to be on site to configure the HC.
Thank you for your help
