I'm mostly illiterate in Linux in many ways and don't know how the drivers work with the OS.
I thought maybe there is the option to copy/paste an older driver into a folder on the new SM X?
I beleive I did use Fedora at one point in the past few months for testing purposes, and the Touptek Meade driver was still in there and worked as intended. I assume, that's the older driver database.
Worked with both the Meade LP-IG guider (IMX178 sensor) and the Meade IV Mono (Panasonic sensor).
There is just no way to copy over older drivers like in Windows OS?

I emailed touptek about this about 2 weeks ago, but no replies.

Just to be clear, these cameras do not work with Linux anymore and they are still sold in online stores

I understand they got a small user base (there are a few people on astrobin), but imagine buying a camera and linux doesn't support it. I see much older cameras having their drivers available, so why not these??

Interesting thing, that I tried with a different Linux OS (Debian latest release) and the meade touptek camera driver in there works with my camera. Tried also with just the clear-Kubuntu OS and that driver doesn't.

I recently bought the Stellarmate X OS and after testing it with a ZWO camera, it worked good.

However the driver for the Meade DSI 4 mono camera is missing. This driver is present in the Rasp Pi version, but not in the Kubuntu based OS.
I also saw the same driver available in another Linux version, but not in Stellarmate X.

Here are some drivers for Touptek and Meade cameras, but none of them are for the Touptek based Meade camera:

Orion Starshoot G3/G4 - Doesn't work with Meade DSI IV
Meade Deep Sky Imager -Doesn't work with Meade DSI IV
Touptek Camera - -Doesn't work with Meade DSI IV

What the original driver that worked was called "Meade Touptek" and it's in both Astroberry OS and the RPI4 version of Stellarmate OS.

So, nobody is using any PMC8 mounts with Ekos? People with Losmandy, Exos-100 and so on?

Pier side is not reported, so Meridian flips or just parking the mount can be an issue.
Ekos tries to run my telescope into the mount by slewing the wrong way during meridian flip. Happened 3 times already, I had to quickly shut down the mount to avoid damage.

Is there anything to be done with that? Ekos says "pier side unknown". I searched up some topics on this forum, but couldn't find anything similar, other than wrong pier side reporting. My mount just doesn't report, so I am unable to do Meridian flips, I already tried, and Ekos was driving the scope into the tripod, because it flips, but then after it does a plate solve, it starts to move the mount the wrong direction, right directly into the tripod legs. I checked the indi control panel, there isn't even an option for Pier side available. It's missing.

The EXOSII GT PMC8 already has a wifi built in. It's main way to connect to Windows laptops or tablets, there is also a serial cable what I use. So this one doesn't need an extra dongle. The problem is, the option is right there in the indi driver page, to fill in the IP address and Port number and so on, but it won't connect.

I got an EXOS 2GT Mount with PMC8, and sorry to say this, but the mount is rather a let down in many ways, especially tracking and guiding.

Another thing, since I want to eliminate as many cables as possible, especially the thick and heavy serial cable that it needs - I tried to wifi connect to it.

It's upgraded to the latest firmware, and according to the info, the mount can be connected either way, no need to switch around in the firmware level if I want Wifi or Serial.

The problem is, I could never connect to the mount via wifi , like I could do my Skywatcher AZGTI. I know I have all the right info with the IP address and port number, but the Ekos doesn't see it.

The mount is definetely transmitting the wifi signal, I could see it on my Windows laptop wifi list.

Is this even possible or some steps I'm missing?

Thanks for any info!

Ok, so I had several issues, but I ran the problems back to that I was using an external SSD connected to the RPI (custom boot from the SSD drive and not the sd card) .

That's one problem, I guess I tried to fix the slowness of the RPI and it worked , but my choice of SSD is an old drive that was reformatted many times and used plenty of times with large file transfers and it had issues already, including the OS crashing for unknown reasons (The SSD had issues) , when it was used as a primary drive in a PC.

Interesting, that I tried to fix one problem (slow reading from micro sd card- an inherent issue with all RPIs ) but created another.

I think I managed to fix it. What I had to do is go inside the indi web manager, delete everything, and connect everything as a "simulator" . Mount, cameras etc.

Then when I opened the Windows Kstars, and made a new profile (deleted all profiles) and the 7 positions popped up. I had the suspicion that it was the web manager messing things up, because previously I deleted all profiles on raspberry pi and windows and the only thing remained was the web manager.

If you look at the screenshot I posted, it detects the 7 position filter wheel. But only shows for 5 positions to edit.

I have deleted everything, including all profiles. Both on the RP4 as well as the Windows. I also purged the drivers, and I just did another install of Kstars on another computer and still it's a 5 pos. filter wheel that shows up

Just a quick note. On the RPI4, if I remote view into, it connects and identifies it as a 7pos and shows 7 filter positions. Only on Windows it does this.

My bet is on the webmanager, which I also purged and deleted everything and made a new profile.
Still 5 position filter wheel with 2 of them blank.

I know, all I'm posting is problems, but I'm trying to show all the bugs or maybe someone searches at a later time hopefully finds some answers.

Here is the new one. I have a 7 position filter wheel . I used a 5 position a while ago.

So, just to be clear, here is what I'm doing.

I connect to the RPI4 via remote Kstars from Windows. I don't really do this often and I can just remote desktop into the RPI where it shows a 7 filter wheel.

So, I connect, and no matter what I do, it shows only 5 editable filter slots. It even says on the bottom dialog that "connected 7Pos filter wheel, but won't allow me to add 2 more filters.

See the screenshots. I tried everything from purging configuration, default configuration, recalibrate EFW, debug on , disconnect, reconnect, new profile, Nothing works.
