Thank you.
I played with the parameters a bit. There seems to be an issue with shorter focal lenghts, 900 mm worked great while 300 mm failed to produce stars.
I then tried plate solveing without success, but that is another topic.
Thanks again.Dan

Thank you. I have tried gain of 0 and 90.
This is strange. It was working very well up to a few weeks ago. I have been 'upgrading' regularly. The builds are within a couple of days from current.
I have tried it on 2 different systems. One has almost configurations, just the simulators. I use the other as a controller, it has all the configs I use.
Hope this helps. Dan

Is anyone else having this issue? A few weeks back when I used this feature it worked very well.
I then didn't use it and then upgraded to the latest releases. Now the GSC images are very poor.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dan

Update: I increased the exposure time and that produced faint stars. I speculate there may be a sensitivity setting that is too restrictive. Is there a way to increase / manage the simulator - GSC capture sensitivity?
The caputure rate is very low and the star image very poor.
BTW: I am doing this during the day. Does this create an issue?
Thanks, Dan

I am trying to work with the simulators. The image below is showing a configuatiron difference between indi and EKOS. The indi config is showing 5450x3450 pixels while the EKOS config is showing 1280x1024.
I would assume there was a syncronazation path between EKOS and indi, Is this not the case?
I would lkie for these to be syncornized. How can it be resolved?
How did this miss aligmnet occur?
Thanks in advance, Dan

I would support returning legacy as an option. I find Greedy overly constrained.

The system is updated to the latest release. It is within a couple of days of being up to date.
For the last several months the connection between the camera simulator and GSC has worked to support the CCD simulator creating star images. I have not used it for a few weeks until the last couple of days. The CCD simulator has stopped working to create images. The fits file is blank, dark grey.
My question is: What are the CCD simulator to GSC config dependencies? Are they documented? How / what are the stpes of configuring / confirming the configuration?
Thanks in advance, Dan

I removed both Canon cameras and then reconfigured the M50 entry from scratch. This works.
My take away is the camera update window may not update all the full camera configuration. This was an intermediate step before removing and reinstalling kstars.

I may have a clue. I have 2 Canon DSLRs, a 1300D and an M50. I loaded kstars into a fresh system and tested the M50. It all seemed to work. I believe there may be an issue with the 2 similar devices.
Is there a way to configure the second DSLR?
If not is there a way to remove the 1300D? Or at least edit out so the M50 is primary?

Good morning. Yes the camera is in manual bulb mode.
Additionally there seems to be a cross reaction between the camera and the mount. Substituting the 1300D everything works as expected. However the M50 config interacts with the mount. The mount is 'idle' and nothing I can do removes it from idle. I have 2 configs, one is EQMOD_1300D and the other EQMOD_M50.
As a note INDI recognizes the M50, pulls the serial number, etc. There is nothing in INDI that indicates the M50 in not being recognized. Is there a way to directly cause INDI to capture an image?

Additional Information:
Just for comparison I disconnected the M50 and reconnected the Rebel 1300D. It came up and populated normally and worked normally. All the fields above were populated correctly.

No. The ISO box is in the INDI Image window. It is a drop down. I have tried setting ti to both auto and 800. Conversly that button does not appear to be onnected to the EKOS camera window. In that window the ISO box is null and the gain window active. There appears to be a disconnect between INDI and EDOS.
Additionally in the EKOS camera window:
The camera field is null and cannot be modidied
The Format field is null and cannot be modified.
The Size Width and Height fields are limited to 2 charactors, i.e. values of 99 or less.
In the Sequence Queue at the bottom the left Capture box is active and the middle Repeat box active. However the Live box is crossed out and inactive.
Additionally in Indy in the Camera section there appears to be a disconnect between the General Info screen and the other screen. In the General Info screen the driver is GPhoto CCD an din the other field the 'camera' is a Canon EOS M50.
Thanks again, Dan
