Automatic flats broken ?

Since upgrading to kstars 3.5.6 I notice the automatic flat exposure does not work but jumps endlessly around
The old system (used for 3 years) usually got the correct exposure starting from 1 second in 3 steps.
It worked last week - same camera , same settings.
Server: Armbian jammy (ubuntu compat). Client Linux mint 21. Camera Altair Astro 25C (Touptek clone).
Manual mode still fine.

Hi, maybe it's something else, but in my experience, since a while and also in kstars 3.6.8, flat frames calibration does not function if you tick the "take flat frames at the same focus point" option in the filters panel.

Massimo. Setting things up so it works seems to get harder and harder with each advance !
I was taking flats indoors so didn't connect the guide camera. This seems to have sent everything haywire even though I am only using the
main camera and main scope.
After connecting said guidescope it now works !!!
Thanks for setting me on the right track.
Leave anything turned off at your peril.

Greater functionalities mean greater challenges. I'm always delighted by the joy and wrath that this generates ;-D

Let us also remember the old adage, "If it works, don't touch it!"
