Here's the system that I'm building:
workstation in the UK running EKOS/Kstars
connecting over the web to an indi server over in Germany where my observatory will be
From the UK, I will control everything there is to be controlled.
When you run a sequence of taking pictures, where do the pictures get stored please?
Here on my side in the UK or on the indi server over in Germany?
Thanks, I'm sure it's a silly question, couldn't find the answer to it.
So before someone asks for it, I implemented "Upload Mode" for all CCD drivers. You can select "Client" (default), Local, or Both. If you select Local or Both, you can also set Upload Settings property which has the upload directory and upload prefix. The prefix can be any string with XX somewhere in it, for example IMAGE_XX, the XX will be replaced by an incremental number that is unique on the file system it is been saved to.
So by default, Ekos and the CCD drivers will just work as they did before. But if you select Upload Mode in the driver to "Local", then it would only save files on the machine on which the driver is running. Ekos will automatically update the directory and prefix if sequence queue is running. I think this would be useful for those who wish to save the files remotely and fetch them later.
