I recently purchased an SMPro to use for my imaging system control. Part of my decision to buy was the stepper output being built in to the controller. I have a FT EMS system already and was hoping I could drive the motors directly with the SMPro and not have to use the FT hub. SO far, it doesn't look like the SMP will drive the FT motors directly. I called FT to ask about their pinout and they were unable to give me the info. Has anyone been able to successfully run the FT motors directly from the SMP?

I don't think what you are trying to do is possible, it would require too many amps to operate the motor, that is why you have a controller inbetween. I use an Arduino Uno with a motor controller hat.
