I think it should be present. It's more about the hardware in this case.
I can think of one use case, in the case of heavy payload and Crayford focuser, you could get some slippage if you don't let the focuser settle; it's not a problem for those autofocusers, like the Sesto Senso 2, that has the ability to manipulate the acceleration and speed, but for autofocusers without those parameters the slippage could happen. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm still a newbie regarding astrophotography in general.
