Hi all,
I'm a beginner on astronomy and on astrophotography.
I try astroberry on Raspberry Pi4 and it works fine.
I like also to test the official version on ubuntu to have aways latest version so I just istalled the ubuntu 20.10 Desktop on RaspBerry Pi4 (now fully supported by ubuntu) but the setup procedure using apt reported in "get indi for ubuntu" doesn't works at all (doesn't find the repository).
Couple of questions:
- Does Indi server support Ubuntu 20.10 in general? if no there is any plan? if yes what is the correct install procedure via apt for ubuntu for Raspberry 4?
- however I was able to install Kstars via the ubuntu App Store: it contains a full version of Indi server or just local/limited support? I found only limited drivers installed: is it possible to update with the all drivers available ?

I'm not a linux expert so I'm looking for standard and easy setup procedure, not for expert procedure that include compile a new version of the sources

Thanks a lot
Davide

I assume you did the following:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indi-full gsc

as described at indilib.org/download.html

On launchpad the PPA shows Groovy (20.10)

I discovered that the faild repository for ubutu 20.10 is "gsc". I was able to install indilib only without this component so with the command "sudo apt-get install indi-full".
Do you now the impact on my setup without gsc? Is it a main component or some minor funcionaloity?
Thanks Davide

OK I can see that the build for Groovy is missing.
Just for your knowledge, the "repository" is ppa:mutlaqja/ppa so it sounds like you were able to add that successfully.
gsc is known as a "package" and for some reason it is not being built for Groovy.
That's something for Jasem @knro to look at.
gsc as far as I know is the guide star catalog and is used by the simulator.
