as for the build itself using the script, standard but I used c instead of e .

Just to be sure that my emerge dmg version that I had installed earlier on the MBA laptop wasn't interfering, I have removed it completely and the cmake version still works nicely from the command line.

I think that I changed it to be cmake or emerge, based on which you are running. Let me know if that isn't working right

The latest version should have created a kstars-cmake.tgz rather than kstars-stuff.tgz - is that not what you are thinking?

Do you have a definitive list of all that you have done to get it running via cmake?

So the kstars-stuff isn't needed anymore - you can delete the dir and the tgz. Each build type should now be separate
