Raspberry Pi, Parallel port HAT, enabling parallel port in Kernel was created by Morten

I have an elderly SBIG st7/CFW8 combo that runs on the seriel and parallel ports.

The Elesar HAT Link to files supplies both a serial and parallel port, but needs the parallel port to be enabled in the Kernel.

Elesar quotes this way of doing it Enabling in Kernel However that's not working on the Astroberry version.

Any suggestions? I am not a programmer so any tips should be as simple described as possible.

I was able to run the menuconfig by following this Procedure for updating Kernelprocedure
