Im struggling with an
issue
in 3.6.8, and I think it was there in 3.6.7. Is there a way to revert to 3.6.5 (or so)? Ive tried all the possibilities in aptitude that i can find, but it just doesn't show that there are any old versions.
Can someone help me with a procedure to downgrade? Everything was working great in 3.6.5, and since it's my "production" observatory, id be ok to go back and keep it there until further notice.
Thanks.. Yes Ive already explored all the options of downgrading via aptitude or apt-get on my ubunutu (debian based) system.
The problem seems to be that since it is installed from Jasem's repository, the old versions still have to be published and available.
for example, searching package ssh:
sudo apt list -a ssh
Listing... Done
ssh/lunar-updates,lunar-updates,lunar-security,lunar-security 1:9.0p1-1ubuntu8.7 all
ssh/lunar,lunar 1:9.0p1-1ubuntu8 all
Shows two versions.
now for kstars-bleeding:
sudo apt list -a kstars-bleeding
Listing... Done
kstars-bleeding/lunar,now 6:3.6.8+202312260450~ubuntu23.04.1 amd64 [installed]
No other version available.
If anyone knows a procedure that would be great. I don't want to break a production system. I considered jumping out of bleeding, but Id be afraid all of my complex configurations would break if there are things that have changed in there. I could be wrong but for it to work via apt, the maintainer has to provide the other versions. Otherwise a manual compile and installation could work. But Id really like to keep it in the repository for future proofing.
If nothing else works you can try to compile it from source. Uninstall any kstars and indi package first. Then clone my install script repository gitea.nouspiro.space/nou/astro-soft-build
Run install-dependencies.sh script
Edit build-soft-stable.sh and change at start of file version lines with INDI to v2.0.2 and KSTARS to 3.6.5
Save and then run this script. It will compile and install specified version.
