Really much better now!
Glad I could help :-)
Yes now you can make some minor tweaking so see if if works better or not.
Just for a reference. The best I could achieve with very good polar alignment was between 0.4 on great nights to 0.8 on worse nights.

Yes again thanks for help, really good.
But I still don't understand why the RA is so much worse than the DE. Mount issue? Do I tweak something else more?

Mine was on DEC axis.
How is your backlash on RA Axis?
This really affects guiding until it stabilizes the axis. Can you calibrate at first time, does it respond immediately when calibrating or does it take a long time to respond.
Balance also affects it, do you have it EAST or WEST heavy? Mine is a little heavier on EAST side so the motor meshes are in contact all the time.
You have a lot of corrections on RA axis, this could be tweaked on the option values but your mount can be simply jumping on this axis because of outbalancing.

I did rebuild the mount not that long ago.
If I remember correctly, there was still something in the RA I wasn't too happy with but went ahead with... so it might be this.
I shall look into this this summer when I'm the observatory.

10min pic has finished hold on...

NGC 7023 aka Iris nebula
Single 10min shot, Atik 314, I did use the levels in The Gimp a little bit.

If you can pass the out of focus, I would say that the stars are pretty round to me.

About the 10min images, my mount had an 8min period so sometimes it hit an image during exposure and some of them were trashed.
PEC training would help with this, but I could never do it with INDI as the option did not appear on mine.

I don't know how to do PEC training on the HEQ5 pro and indi, that will be for another forum post.

That's me done for tonight, thanks again NMAC for your help, much appreciated.
I've regained a little bit more confidence in my system, I tell you what, it's really not easy to run a remote observatory 450+ miles away....

I now that It was already mentioned here some time ago but it seems the HEQ5 is not supported as the options do not appear on INDI control panel.
The same happens with the Vixen GPD2 I have now, it has a Skywatcher goto kit and I am using it with eqmod, but the options do not appear also.

Again I am glad I could really help. It's kind of hard getting the values right. It's trial and error, sometimes, even for the same equipment.. and those 450+ ohhh boy....
I tried that....and it made me nervous :-D

INDI EQMod does not support PEC unfortunately, although it is supported in ASCOM EQMod.

Gonzo, you mentioned you were not too happy with something after you rebuilt the mount. I also have an HEQ5 Pro, and I just found I had to make an adjustment to the worm meshing on my RA. It had a little play in it that I could feel by hand, and it made a little knocking noise. The mount has been tuned before. But I move it around a lot.

If your RA worm drive is not meshing optimally, it very well may be the reason your RA guide scatter plot is so elongated. The settings you've worked on may have helped but ultimately, if my presumption is correct, it will have to be mechanically addressed.
