Mount Control Commands. Why the Delay? was created by Martin

I have my HEQ5 attached to my Mac running 10.12.6 with the USB2EQ5 cable from Shoestring Astronomy. When I input a command for the scope to move in a direction there is a huge delay in the scope moving. We are talking several secongs between clicking and the scope finally moving. Frustrating thing is I never know how much the scope will end up moving! Does anyone know how to fix this?
Equipment: Skywatcher HEQ5 - Stellarvue 80mm access - Canon 6D (unmodified) - Stellarvue 50mm Guide Scope - ZWO ASI290MM Mini - Rasp Pi4
