I was trying to do a 6 panel mosaic the other night and noticed that there was a 5 minute pause between jobs. I found the setting to reduce this but couldn’t see why it was there.

Is it to allow time for the mount to align, focuser to focus and guiding to get working, doesn’t the system know when each of these have finished doing what they need to do?

I did notice my system would start taking an image and then abort it to do something else (alignment I think) is this because I reduced this pause?

In the end I got 10 minutes per panel over an 8 hour imaging session so not exactly productive but I was pleased that it did basically work and count it as a success plus that led to an “enjoyable” few days working out how to stitch things together in pixinsight. Very much a case of ‘the operation was a success but the patient died’ given the resulting image.
